Orange Mittai Tamil Movie Review | Vijay Sethupathi

Orange Mittai is a 2015 Indian, Tamil, Dark Comedy film co-written and directed by Biju Viswanath. Produced by actor Vijay Sethupathi, the film features him in the lead role alongside Ramesh Thilak, Arumugam Bala and Aashritha. The film began production in mid-2014.<br />
 Orange Mittai is a pleasantly short film of just about an hour and half detailing the pathos and pain of old-age loneliness -- a common feature in today's India with ageing parents finding themselves alone and abandoned.<br />
 Thirty-seven-old Vijay Sethupathi -- who appears determined not to be typecast, having played varying kinds of characters in Pizza and Soodhu Kaavum -- essays an elderly man, Kailasam, living all by himself in a huge, dilapidated mansion in a remote village. When he seemingly develops symptoms of a cardiac arrest, an ambulance is sent to fetch him.<br />
 The journey with driver Aarumugham (Aarubala) and para-medic Satya (Ramesh Thilak) turns into a roller-coaster ride with Kailasam playing a spoilt brat, arrogant and irritatingly ego-centric.<br />
What Orange Mittai eventually wants to grip us with is that gnawing feeling of misery which sets in as one is left alone.First-class performances by Sethupathi and Thilak have the movie racing, though I was a tad disappointed with Vijay's makeup. Often it helps to have an old man portray an old man -- as we saw with a touch of brilliance in Piku.<br />
Nonetheless, Orange Mittai is a refreshing relief from the distressingly long and annoyingly loud and exaggerated Tamil works that one has been bombarded with in recent times. Biju Viswanath keeps his narrative -- at least most of the times -- tastefully understated.</div>

Maari is a Tamil action comedy film written & directed by Balaji Mohan starring Dhanush and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. The film is produced by Listin Stephen and Raadhika Sarathkumar under the banner of Magic Frames and co produced by Dhanush himself under the banner Wunderbar Films. Anirudh Ravichander composed the film's soundtrack and score while Om Prakash undertook the film's cinematography.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Maari, Dhanush is local rowdy. His lean physique and unimpressive looks lend themselves to an anti-social element who lives by demanding his "hafta" from shopkeepers and generally playing "dada". When Kajal Aggarwal's Sridevi sets up a boutique in Maari land -- a lowly Chennai locality -- he demands not just "protection money" but also a share in her profits. "We are partners", he tells a hapless Sridevi -- who despite all the humiliation and harassment she faces from him, begins to get fond him. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
With a cop, Vijay Yesudas as Arjun in uniform, challenging Maari on his turf, the pendulum begins to swing wildly from what is righteous to what is absolutely no no. In a scenario such as this, why would any decent girl gravitate towards Maari and not Arjun. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Yesudas appears too conscious of his dashing good looks to sink into a policeman out to cleanse the rotten area -- where Maari breeds and nurtures pigeons for racing. Huge money is involved, and in some ways, he conveys the impression that he is no less than the rich Arabs whose passion for falcons is well known. But Maari's faded lungi and vest snatch us out of this fancy picture.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Yes, Dhanush has to guts to play a man with many shades of grey, his looks blending with the character. Perhaps, he knows that it may not be easy for him to be the conventional hero. But this is the hero the masses appear to adore, and the film cherishes and celebrates the anti-social in society -- a disturbing trend though in Tamil cinema</div>

Papanasam is Tamil drama thriller film written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Kamal Haasan and Gautami Tadimalla. The film is a remake of Jeethu's 2013 Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam which starred Mohanlal and Meena in the roles now portrayed by Hasan and Tadimalla respectively. The film also features Asha Sarath, Anant Mahadevan, Kalabhavan Mani and Niveda Thomas. Film released on 3 July 2015.<br />
<br />
We rating the film 4.5 out of 5,It is Brilliant Thriller must be Watched. Papanasam is a winning script and retaining Jeethu Joseph has helped immensely. But when a performer called Kamal Haasan takes up such a project, magic on screen is rest assured.<br />
Papanasam is an uncompromising effort. Jeethu Joseph's golden script must be lauded for working in every language that it has been tried in, for Papanasam is a belter in terms of its paperwork. You cannot ask for a better actor than Kamal Haasan to play the lead role in Tamil. And yes, you cannot ask for a better reason to go watch this film.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Kaaval is an upcoming Indian Tamil action film based on a true story written and directed by Nagendran R. It stars Vimal, Samuthirakani and Gheetha</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
It is amazing how some films evoke the wrath of some group or the other, while some others pass by without offending anyone. Here in R Nagendran's Tamil work, Kaaval, Chennai's police force -- at least a part of it -- is presented as utterly corrupt and incompetent. One is not debating the veracity of this image, but just that Kaaval (which incidentally means police) has not got the city's cops fuming.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Nagendran's feature has really nothing new to offer. We have seen innumerable movies about paid killers and their unholy camaraderie with the guardians of law and the representatives of the people. A voiceover tells us at the start of the film that murder has become a profession in Tamil Nadu. A murderer has no motive other than money, and kills because he is paid a handsome amount to spill blood.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
However, Kaaval meanders beyond this tale of crime: we have Anbu falling in love with an event manager, Amrutha (Geetha) -- and the romance provides enough scope for songs and dances that dilute the very essence of a plot like Kaaval's, trivialising it core content.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
In the end, the work turns out to be yet another addition to the list of very average movies. Some performances -- like those of Karuna (who gets right into the character of a lowly but brutal criminal) and Samuthirakani -- do stop Kaaval from sinking to the very bottom of the Bay of Bengal -- the ocean that Karuna, in a dash of novelty, takes refuge in every time the land gets too hot. And he does this in style: he ceremonially removes all the jewellery he wears before getting on to a boat that is to be his home for the next several days. Yes, but where is the Coastguard?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
